Have you heard about Buy Haywood yet? Buy Haywood supports local farmers through various outreach projects in Western North Carolina. One example of this is their “Cooking Local Project,” which connects community members with local farmers and chefs in an effort to foster healthy eating and increase the sale of locally-grown fruits and vegetables in Western North Carolina. It will include a series of cooking demonstrations in Haywood, Jackson, and Buncombe counties that will feature a locally-grown product, the farmer who grew it, and a local chef who will teach participants how to use the product to prepare a healthy, affordable meal.
Buy Haywood’s has also recently begun YouTube channel and have been producing a series of videos that promote agritourism in Haywood County. Check out the sample video below, as well as their full YouTube page.
