As we wrap up our assessment, we need your input on\u00a0final recommendations and stakeholders roles. MountainWise invites you to <a href=\"\/es\/%20https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/LN6LFLQ\/\">attend a Symposium<\/a> on\u00a0<strong>Tuesday, August 26\u00a0at\u00a01:00<span style=\"color: #cc0000;\">\u00a0<\/span>pm at Lake Junaluska<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/mountainwise.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MtnElements.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-2272 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mountainwise.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MtnElements.png\" alt=\"MtnElements\" width=\"500\" height=\"335\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mountainwise.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MtnElements.png 500w, https:\/\/mountainwise.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/MtnElements-300x201.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\">The Symposium will unveil the Health Impact Assessment&#8217;s (HIA) preliminary findings, including substantial recommendations on how to advance more comprehensive food systems planning for the region, its cities and towns and its counties as a way to improve the health of our citizens. Other secondary recommendations for overall community planning and economic development strategies will also be examined\u00a0through the lens of public health enhancements. Community\u00a0input is critical in helping us fine-tune these recommendations and will help us to identify roles that community members and other local\u00a0organizations can play in continuing to improve public health in our\u00a0community.<\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\">The Symposium format will be a combination of an introductory presentation as well as themed stations based on the many HIA recommendations and monitoring suggestions. We are inviting health professionals, planners, economic developers, non-profit organizations and members of the faith community to provide input.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\">This will also be the final celebration of the Community Transformation Grant (CTG) \u00a0Project in Region 1, providing a great opportunity to learn about regional and local successes.<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #222222;\">Thank you to all of the organizations and individuals who have participated in the HIA and CTG throughout the last few years.
