Active Routes To School Project Coordinator (ARTS Coordinator)

The primary purpose of this position is to increase the number of North Carolinians’ physical recommendations by increasing the number of elementary and middle school-age students who walk and bike to school.

Applicants must possess the following skills and abilities: a thorough and in-depth knowledge of theories, principles, and practices associated with physical activity, public health policy, and/or community- based health promotion; an understanding of government system, evaluation, and partnership development; experience in planning, organizing , and directing school and/or community activities and prograAms; experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders to facilitate partnerships, coordinate program activities, and multi-agency partnerships. Applicants must also possess the ability to work independently and the ability to analyze data relating to program operations.

Minimum training and experience: Master’s Degree in Public Health or Human Services Administration; OR graduation from a 4 year college or university and 3 years of administrative or consultative experience in a human services program; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
